Raspberry Sorbet

A simple sorbet that has intense raspberry flavor.

Ingredients

1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup water
1 1/2 cups fresh raspberries
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup ginger ale

Method

Boil the sugar and water for 6 minutes. Set aside to cool. Puree the raspberries in a blender and stir into the cooled syrup along with the lemon juice and ginger ale. Pour into a flat pan (baking dish) and place in freezer. When soft-frozen, place in a chilled bowl and beat with electric beater until light and smooth. Spoon lightly into a freezer carton or other container and return to freezer.
