Dietary guidance: v v
flour, 1 kg = 7-1/3 c.
yeast, 1.5 tbsp = 2 packets
oil, 1/2 c., neutral (canola, walnut, ...)
water, 1/2 c.
sugar, 1/2 c. + 1 tsp
salt, coarse/kosher, 1 tbsp (reduce?)
water, warm, 2-1/4 c. plus 1/2 c.
1. In small bowl combine yeast, 1 tsp sugar, 1/2 c. water; mix to dissolve. In second small bowl mix oil, water, 1/2 c. sugar, salt to dissolve partially.
2. In large bowl add flour, then mix in two small bowls. Mix with spoon to make dough. Cover with towel and let rise 1 hr.
3. Preheat oven to 415 F. Dust with flour to prevent sticking and make into 3-4 challot. Let rise covered 30 min.
4. Put in oven, reduce to 350 F, bake 50 min.
