Chocolate Raspberry Beer Brownies

4 oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1/2 c + 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
1 1/2 c sugar
1/2 c Belgian white ale, room temperature
3 eggs
2 Tbsp vanilla
1 c all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c seedless raspbeery jam, stirred until smooth


Preheat oven to 350. Grease 9 inch square baking pan. Combine butter and chocolate in saucepan and melt over low heat. Transfer to bowl. Whisk in sugar, eggs, ale, and vanilla. In separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. Fold dry ingredients into chocolate mixture until just moistened. Drizzle raspbeery jam over top of batter. Bake 30 - 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out with moist crumbs. Cool. Cut into bars.
