Chewy, chocolatey Brownies. My wife has put these in the "Death by Chocolate" Category. Serve with chopped nuts, chocolate syrup, a scoop a vanilla Ice Cream and whipped cream.

Preparation time: 20 min
Cooking time: 30 min

Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
Serves: 15-18


* 1/3 cup Cocoa
* 1/2 cup + 2Tbls boiling water
* 2oz unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
* 1/2 Tbls Coffee grounds
* 4 1/2 Tbls melted butter
* 1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
* 2 Eggs + 2 yolks
* 2 tsp vanilla
* 2 1/2 cups sugar
* 3/4 tsp salt
* 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
* optional - 3/4 cup chopped walnuts // 3/4 cup chocolate chunks


Preheat oven to 350* Line a 9 x 13 inch baking pan with aluminum foil, spray with cooking oil.

To a large bowl add cocoa and water. Mix well until dissolved.
Add coarsely chopped chocolate. Mix well. Chocolate should melt with the boiling water.
Add coffee and melted butter. Mix well.
Add vegetable oil. Mix well.
Add eggs. Mix well.
Add vanilla, salt and sugar. Mix well.
Fold in flour with a spatula until fully mixed.
Add Walnuts and chunks, if desired.

Pour into pan. Bake for 30- 35 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool for an hour or more.
Flip onto a cutting board and peel off foil.
Cut into desired # of slices.
