1 large loaf of french bread
8 large eggs
2 c half-and-half
1 c milk
2 Tbs sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
dash salt

Praline topping
1/2lb butter
1 c packed light brown sugar
1 c chopped pecans
2 Tbs light corn syrup
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Slice french bread into 1" thick slices. Arrange slices in a generously buttered 13 X 9 baking dish in two rows.

In a lg bowl, combine the eggs, half and half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Beat until blended but not bubbly. Pour the mixtureover the bread slices, making sure that it covers all of the bread. Cover the dish with foil and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat the oven to 350.

Meanwhile, mix together the praline topping ingredients. Blend well.

Spread the praline topping evenly over the bread and bake for 40 minutes until puffed and golden.

Serve with maple syrup.
