Cheddar and Beer Fondue

Difficulty: Easy - for beginners


1 c beer
1 c milk
1 1/2 lbs sharp cheddar cheese, grated
3 Tbs cornstarch
3 T white wine
dash white pepper


Heat beer and milk in a fondue pot on high or in a double-boiler until bubbles rise to the surface. Add the cheese a little at a time, stirring between each addition until all of cheese has been added and is melted.

Mix together cornstarch and wine. Add to fondue, stirring constantly, until thickened.

Add pepper and stir well.

Reduce ehat to low and serve warm with apples, pita chips, or fresh bread.
