Cream Cheese Fruit Cake

1 package (8-oz) cream cheese
1 cup margarine or butter
1 ½ cups sugar
1 ½ teaspoon vanilla
4 eggs
2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 cup chopped candied fruit
¾ cup chopped pecan


Grease a 10” Bundt or tube pan and sprinkle with ¼ cup of the chopped pecans. Soften cream cheese and combine with the margarine, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs. One at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually add 2 cups of flour, sifted with the baking powder. Combine the left over ¼ cup flour with the candied fruit and ½ cup of pecans. Fold candy and fruit into batter. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake at 3250 for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Cool well. Turn pan upside down
