French Coffee Cake

Difficulty: Easy - for beginners


¾ cup margarine
1 ½ cup sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cups sour cream
3 cups flour
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
¾ teaspoon salt


Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla thoroughly. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream. Pour half of batter into 9 x 5 bread pan. Add half of topping. Add remainder of batter. Add remainder of topping. Bake at 3500 F for 50 minutes.
