Cumin-Pepper Hummus

Basic hummus has so many varieties, but this one seems to be the most popular one that I've made. It's fast and easy to make, and low fat! My one reccomendation is that you go with making it in a food processor. You can try making it in a blender, but the

Serves: 1 1/3 cups spread

1 can (15 to 16 oz.) garbanzo beans, drained
1/4 cup olive oil
1 clove garlic, cut in half
2 Tbs lemon juice (squeeze it fresh, its much better!)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cumin
Coarsely ground black pepper


In a blender or food processor, place beans, oil, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and cumin.

Cover and blend on high speed, stopping blender occasionally to scrape sides if necessary, until uniform consistency.

Spoon into serving dish and sprinkle with coarsely ground black pepper.

Serve with pita bread wedges or raw veggies.
