Granola in the Crockpot

5 cups rolled or quick oats (rolled take longer to cook but both are fine)
1/2 cup dry milk powder (totally optional)
1 tsp cinnamon (or more or less, to taste)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup honey
(also optional, raisins or nuts or whatever you want, add in afterwards)


Mix the dry ingredients in your crockpot with a wooden spoon, then add the wet and mix well.
Prop the lid open by leaving the wooden spoon in so the mixture dries out properly.
Stir around every 30 minutes; cook for around 4 hours. When you stir it, make sure to get the mixture that's on the bottom and sides away from the bottom and sides: this is the part that is cooking, so you want to give other bits a chance to cook, too.
I know it takes a lot longer to do it this way, but it gives off a wonderful aroma and I never burn it this way so it's worth it to me to do it in the crockpot.
