Combine in large bowl:
1 c. warm water (110-115 degrees)
1 pkg. dry yeast
When dissolved, add:
1 tb. sugar
1-1/2 tsp. salt
2 tb. vegetable oil
1-1/4 c. flour
Beat until smooth. Add:
2 c. additional flour, or enough to make stiff dough. (May use part whole wheat)
Knead until elastic, about 5 minutes. Place in greased bowl and let rise until double, about 45 minutes. Punch down and form into 2 balls. Pat and stretch to fill 2 greased pizza pans. Let rise 10 minutes.

Combine in saucepan:
1 small onion, chopped
2-1/2 c. canned tomatoes, OR 2 c. tomato sauce, OR 3 c. fresh tomatoes, chopped
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. basil
dash pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
Bring to boil, crushing whole tomatoes. Cover and cook slowly for 30 minutes or until sauce is slightly thick. Discard bay leaf. Pour over crust.
Sprinkle on:
2 tb. chopped onion
1 finely chopped green pepper
2 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. basil
salt, pepper, and garlic powder, to taste
Sliced mushrooms:)
any other desired toppings
Arrange on top:
1/2-1 lb. sliced or grated cheese - mozzarella, cheddar, and/or Swiss
Bake at 450 degrees for 20-25 minutes, or until crust is golden brown. Enjoy!
