1/2 pound pasta
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup buttermilk or milk
1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 or 2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 pound bacon, cooked crisp and chopped
2 tomatoes, diced (or equivalent amount of halved cherry tomatoes)
1/4 cup red onion, diced
About 1 quart (4 cups) torn romaine or other crispy lettuce
Cook the pasta just until tender; drain and cool under running water; drain again.
In a large bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, buttermilk, mustard, garlic and salt. Add pasta and toss until coated. Add bacon, tomatoes, onion and lettuce. Toss again. Serve immediately.
