Raisin Walnut Pound Cake

2 1/4 cups flour
1 cup chopped raisins
1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 sticks butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
3/4 cup butter milk
3/4 cup chopped Walnuts
2 tablespoons grated orange peel
confectioners' sugar


Take 2 Tablespoons of flour and toss with raisins to coat them well. Set aside. Soft remaing flour with cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, Set adise. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until they are light and fluffy. Add in the eggs and beat again. Add the flour mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in the raisins, walnuts and orange peel. Turn the batter into a lightly greased and flored 9X5X3" loaf pan lined in the bottom with waxed paper. Bake in 350 degree F oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes. Turn out and cool separately. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
