Corn Dog Casserole

2 cup thingly sliced celery
2 T butter
1 1/2 cup sliced green onions
1 1/2 pounds hot dogs
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
2 t. rubber sage
1/4 t. pepper
2 pkg. (8 1/2 oz) corn bread/muffin mix
2 cup shredded cheddar cheese- divided


in a skillet saute celery in butter for 5 min. add onions; saute for 5 min. place in a large bowl; set asaide cut hot dogs length wise into quarters then cut into thirds. in same skillets, saute the dogs for 5 min or untily lightly browned; add to veggies. set aside 1 cup. in a large bowl, combine egg, milk, sage and corn bread mixes. add 1 1/2 cup cheese spread into a shallow 3 qut. baking dish. top with reserved hot dog mixture and remaining cheese. bake uncovered at 400 for 30 min or until goled brown.
