Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
1 gallon sliced cucumbers
8 med onions, peeled and thinly sliced
2 green peppers, seeded and cut into strips
1/2 c salt
5 c sugar
3 1/2 c vinegar
1 1/2 tsp tumeric
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp celery seed
2 Tbs mustard seed
Slice cucumbers thin and mix with onions, peppers, and salt. Cover up with ice water and let stand 3 hours.
Mix other ingredients and pour over vegetables and bring slowly to boiling point.
Seal at once.
Let stand 30 days before using to bring out best flavor.
