Pepper Steak

Serves: 4-6


1/4 c seasoned flour
1 1/2 lbs round steak
2 Tbs shortning
1 can (10 oz) condensed tomato soup
1/2 c water
1 lg green pepper, seeds and stem removed, cut into strips
1 med onion, peeled and sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tbs lemon juice
4 thin slices lemon


Pound seasoned flour into steak with a meat hammer or edge of a heavy saucer.

Brown steak on both sides in shortening.

Add remaining ingredients.


Cook over low heat for 45 minutes or until steak is tender, stirring often.
