1-2 cup of raw Long grained/Jasmine/basmati rice (Don't use easy cook rice, it's nasty)
Pour rice into a microwaveable bowl.
Rinse several times by adding cold water to the bowl, swishing the rice round with fingers and draining carefully.
Add boiling water from kettle to the bowl until there's about 1 knuckle's worth of water over the rice. (I often redrain the hot water then re-add to preheat the rice)
Put into the microwave with a plate over the top of the bowl.
Cook for 1 min on full power (or to boiling point).
Cook for 14 mins on 10-30% power. (10% is defrost on my microwave, but 30% is fine)
Check it's cooked, fluff up with fork and serve.
