Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
2 cups sugar,
1/2 cup milk,
1 tsp. vanilla,
3/4 cup peanut butter.
Bring sugar and milk to a full boil, then let boil for two and a half minutes.
I stirred a time or two.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, then the peanut btter.
Pour into a loaf pan. An 8 x 8 pan will work, but the pieces will be slightly thinner.
When you pour the cooked mixture into the pan to set, it will appear somewhat thin, but don't worry, it will set up nice and firm.
As with most candies, you should cook this on a sunny day. Overcast weather often prevents fudge from setting firmly.
I'm not sure how long this takes to set up. I've only made it once (so far), but I went on to bed. When I got up the next morning, it was nice and firm.
