Chicken with Morita Sauce (Pollo en Salsa Morita )

Ingredients

1.5 lbs Chicken thighs, legs or breasts
3 Cloves garlic
4 Black peppercorns
2 Cloves, whole
½ tsp Cumin, ground
¼ Onion
½ cup Chicken broth or water
1 jar Molli Veracruz Cooking Sauce
2 tbsp Oil

Method

• Season chicken lightly with salt and pepper. Set aside.
• In a blender, puree the garlic, peppercorns, cloves, cumin and onion with the broth and set aside.
• Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add the puree, stir and cook over medium-high heat for 5 minutes. Add the Veracruz Cooking Sauce, bring to a boil, and lower heat to simmer and cook for 5 more minutes.
• Add the chicken, cover and cook over low heat for 25 minutes or until chicken is fully cooked. You can also use a slow cooker, and cook it for 4 hours on low. Enjoy!

• Tip: use leftovers to make flautas de pollo
