Green Beans with Tomatoes

Difficulty: Easy - for beginners


1 pound (500grams) fresh green beans
4 rashers of lean bacon
1 large onion, chopped
salt / pepper to taste
2 cups chopped fresh tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried basil
3/4 cup hot water


String the beans if necessary. Remove tips. Cut into 1" pieces. Dice the bacon and fry in medium saucepan with the chopped onion until bacon is done and onion is tender, but not brown. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer covered until beans are very tender.
