Turkey Sloppy Joes

Submitted by:
This is the most awesome, original tasting sloppy joes I've run across. Many thanks to Sizza at Six in the Suburbs for pulling it all together!

Preparation time: 10
Cooking time: 25

Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
Serves: 6

2 lbs. ground turkey
2 TB olive oil
1 medium onion, finely diced
4 garlic cloves, grated
1/4 cup cider vinegar
3 TB dark brown sugar
1/3 cup ketchup
1 small can tomato paste
1/3 cup water
1 TSP Dijon mustard
3 TB Worcestershire sauce
2TB hot sauce
Sea Salt to taste
6 sesame Kaiser rolls

Finely dice the onions and sautee them in a little olive oil. Once onions are tender, add ground turkey and cook, breaking up big pieces using a spatula.

Add the vinegar, sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Combine and let simmer for a bit.

Next, add the can of tomato paste and combine well. You can thicken or water down the consistency to your liking by adding more or less water.

Lastly, add the Dijon mustard and mix well, Grate garlic and add to pan last.

Let everything simmer for about 15 minutes on medium heat to be sure all flavors get to know each other and meat is cooked through. Serve on Kaiser rolls with or without a slice of cheese.
