Ham Turnovers

Difficulty: Easy - for beginners


2 cans (6.5 ounces) ham flakes, drained
1 can (10 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 teaspoons onion flakes, crushed
1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
1 jar (2 ounces) chopped pimento, drained
1/3 cup dried bread crumbs
pie pastry for four single crusts
1 large egg, fork-beaten


In a medium bowl, combine all but last two ingredients. Stir well. Roll out pastry on a floured surface to 1/8-inch thick. Cut into three inch circles. Place 1 1/2 teaspoon filling just off center of each circle. dampen edges all around and fold in half. Pinch seams to seal. Cut small slit in tops. place on greased baking sheet. Brush tops with egg. Bake at 400 degrees F for about 40 minutes until golden brown.
