Cherry Coffee Cake

Difficulty: Easy - for beginners


1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 cup milk
1 can (19 ounces) cherry pie filling

3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


In a large bowl, cream Margarine and sugar together. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time. Add vanilla. Beat. Add flour, baking powder and milk. Stir until just until moistened. Pour two cups of batter into greased 9x13 pan. Drop tiny spoonfuls of here and there over the top. Drop dabs of remaing batter over cherry filling.

Melt margarine in small saucepan. Add brown sugar, flour and cinnamon. Mix. Sprinkle over batter. Bakeat 350 degree F for 45 minutes.
