Aunt Helen's Homemade Sandwich Spread

6 cucumbers
6 onions
6 mangoes (NOTE - we now call these BELL PEPPERS)
6 green tomatoes
4 c sugar
1 c flour
1 pt prepared mustard (not sure if she meant "part" or "pint")
1 pt vinegar full strength (not sure if she meant "part" or "pint")


Grind and cook the vegetables for 15 minutes with a handful of salt. Drain off all the liquid.

Add the sugar, flour, mustard, and vinegar. Cook slowly until thick, stirring constantly.

Seal hot into 6 pints
