Difficulty: Medium - experience needed
4 c sugar
1 1/3 c milk
1 Tbs cream of tartar
4 Tbs white karo syrup
2 Tbs butter
1 Tbs vanilla
Mix together sugar, milk, tartar, karo, and enough cocoa to make it the right color you want. Cook slowly until the soft ball stage. Mix in butter and vanilla.
Let cool. Stir and turn out on a greased plate then cut.
