Difficulty: Easy - for beginners


2 c fresh oysters or 2 cans frozen oysters
1/4 c butter
1 quart milk
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika


Drain oysters, saving liquid to add to milk.

Melt butter in a 2 qt saucepan over medium heat. Add drained oysters and heat until edges curl (about 3-5 minutes).

Add milk, oyster liquor, salt, pepper, and paprika. Heat thoroughly without boiling.

Cook about 15 minutes in all.
