Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
1 jar marshmallow cream
2/3 c evaporated milk
1/4 c butter
1 1/2 c sugar
1/4 tsp salt
2 pkg 6 oz semisweet chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c chopped nuts
Combine marshmallow cream, milk, butter, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil 5 minutes over moderate heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add semisweet chocolate and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Add nuts if desired.
Mix well. Turn into a greased 8 inch square pan. Chill until firm. Cut into squares and place in a gift box.
Yields 2 lbs fudge.
