Citrus Punch

Submitted by:
A classic. Great at all events where punch is required --- and I think it would be quite lovely with added vodka or a light rum!

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 0

Difficulty: Easy - for beginners
Serves: 35

1 12 oz. frozen lemonade concentrate
1 12 oz. frozen orange juice concentrate
1 large can pineapple juice
1 cup sugar
2 cups hot water
1 liter ginger ale
Orange and lemon slices, for garnish

Heat water and dissolve sugar in water. Pour into gallon size container (I used an old, but clean, milk jug). Add frozen juices and pineapple juice. Fill remaining space, leaving a little at the top for expansion when frozen, with water. Blend or shake well.

Approximately 3 - 4 hours before your event, remove from freezer and allow to thaw. It may not get all the way back to a liquid state, but the icy, crunchy part is wonderful in the punch!

Pour/place thawed punch concentrate into punch bowl and add ginger ale to make sparkling. (NOTE: Always a good idea to use disposable gallon jugs for this in case you need to cut them to get the frozen punch out. You may need to break up the concentrate if it is in too large a piece to serve/pour into glasses.) Garnish with orange and lemon slices.

Served this at a recent Easter event at church and the youth group kids loved it! And so did the adults who opted to stay away from coffee or wine that evening.
