Basmati rice 200 gms
Dal 200 gms (Moong or Masur)
Cloves: 4 nos
Cardamom: 4 nos
Cinnamon: 1 stick
1 red chilly
Bay leaf: 1
Potatoes: 4 medium sized, peeled and diced
Beans: 15, stringed and sliced
Cauliflower: 10 flowerts, lightly sauted
Carrots: 1 medium, peeled and cut in 2 inch sticks
Ghee: 2 tablespoons
4 sugar cubes
2 green chillies
Salt to taste
Heat ghee in a pan.
Add cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaf, red chilly and the green chilly
Fry in low heat till aroma evolves.
Add washed dal and rice & fry a little in low heat for 10 minutes.
Add the vegetables, salt & sugar.
Add 4 cups of hot water and cook on slow fire, with the lid on, till done, till it gets dry. Add more water if needed.
