Bulgogi Beef

Sweet Korean BBQ'd beef courtesy of the Internet. I've tried this many times, no matter how much or how little you put of each ingredient, it always turns out yummy.

2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
1 tablespoons light soy sauce
4 tablespoons sugar
8 spring onions, white and tender green parts only, coarsely chopped
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and grated
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons cooking rice wine
5 tablespoons Sesame oil
1 kg really thinly sliced beef (available prepacked in the freezer section of good korean/asian groceries)


Mix all the ingredients thoroughly except the sliced beef.
Add the beef and marinate for about 1 hour.
Heat some cooking oil in a large frying pan or bbq plate (no oil required if using a non stick pan)
Put the sliced beef in a few at a time and sear on both sides for about 1 minute per side.

Leave it on a bit longer if you want the sugar to caramelise.
