Toll House Cookies

Serves: 40-50 cookies

1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sifted all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter or shortening, softened
6 tablespoons granulated sugar
6 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon water
1 egg
1 6oz pkg. (1 cup) chocolate morsels + nuts (1/2 cup) if required
OR your favourite bar of chocolate - I used one very large bar of English fruit and nut chocolate (chopped up roughly)


Sift together flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. Combine butter, sugars, vanilla and water; beat until creamy. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in chocolate and/or nuts. Drop well rounded half teaspoonfulls (larger if desired) onto greased cookie sheets.
BAKE AT: 375 degrees F.
Time: 10 minutes.
NOTE: I baked mine at 350 degrees F and they came out perfectly (not so crispy)
