85 grams of butter or margarine
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of milk
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
1 1/4 cup self raising flour
dash of vanilla essence
pinch of salt
Mix all ingredients together with an electric mixer on high speed for 3 minutes.
Paper a 9 inch round cake tin, pour in the batter and bake in a medium oven (200 degrees celcius) for 30 - 40 minutes.
Reduce heat to 180 C and cook for a further 10 minutes.
Cool, the ice with chocolate icing or just sprinkle with icing sugar.
