Apple Nut Squares

Ingredients

3 eggs
1 ¾ c. sugar
1 c. oil
2 tsp vanilla
2 c. flour

½ c. chopped nuts (I never use them)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 ½ tsp. cinnamon
4 medium apples, pared and diced (2 c.)

Method

In a mixing bowl, combine and blend eggs, sugar, oil and vanilla. Sift together flour, salt, soda, and cinnamon. Stir this into egg mixture; mix well. Fold in apples and nuts. c. chopped nuts (I never use them) Bake in lightly greased 9X13 inch pan at 325 for 1 hour. When done, drizzle a glaze of powdered sugar mixed with hot water over top. Let set until cool. Cut in squares. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon before you put it in the oven. (Best when not cut and kept in covered container.)
