I know that a sponge cake cannot be mouth water but I love making this new found recipe.Old to you but new to me so thanks to my facebookbuddy Ralton for sharing it with me.
Reminds me of my ma's cakes that she use to make.Bless her soul.

Preparation time: 20-25 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes

Serves: 30 kids-cut in cubes

Dietary guidance: v 


1 cup of sugar
1 cup of self raising flour
1 table spoon of lemon juice (optional)
rind of 1 lemon (optional)
6 eggs-seperated


Preheat your oven to 180 degrees
Beat the egg yolk till it becomes creamy in texture and lemon in colour.
Then gradually add the sugar.

Beat the egg whites till still stiff and fold it into the above mixture with a wooden spoon.Fold in the flour as well.Dont overdo it.
Pour it into a lined baking tin or baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
Decorate as desired.
