Turkey Chilli

1lb ground turkey (I used 99% lean)
1 med. onion chopped (I used mild yellow variety)
1 clove garlic, minced (or substitute 1 tsp garlic salt)
a bit of olive oil (optional)
1/2Tbs chilli powder
1/2tsp ground cumin
1/2tsp salt (omit if using garlic salt)
1/2tsp ground pepper
2 cans diced tomatoes (I used chilli ready variety)
1 can kidney beans, rinsed
1 can black beans, rinsed


Sautee the turkey, onion, and garlic in a little olive oil. Add in the spices. Cook until turkey is cooked through and onion is translucent. Add in cans of tomatoes. Simmer for 50 minutes. Add in beans. Simmer for 10 more minutes.
