3 japanese eggplants
more or less 1 T each honey (less), sesame oil (MORE), soy sauce (more), miso (less)
1 clove garlic, minced
black pepper, to taste
slice eggplants lengthwise. Mix everything else. Brush over eggplants. Grill or broil until soft, basting once.
I'd call it vegan unless you don't believe in co-opting bee labor. In that case, use the sweetener of your choice or omit.
