Fresh Muesli

The original way of eating muesli (more or less). A refreshing and nourishing cold breakfast dish that staves off hunger all morning.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 1 hour (or overnight)

2 cups of rolled oats
1/2 cup mixed seeds and nuts (e.g. sunflower, pumpkin, pine nuts)
1/2 cup mixed dried fruit (e.g. raisins, apricots)
1 cup yoghurt (plain or fruit of your choice)
2 medium apples (not too ripe)
1/2 cup raspberries (optional)
1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)


Soak the dry ingredients (oats, nuts and dried fruit) in 2-3 cups of water, and refrigerate for an hour or overnight.

Drain the excess water, leaving the mixture in a large bowl.
Wash the apples and grate them into the mixture.
Add the yoghurt and mix well.

For a little added tang, add the lemon juice and/or raspberries (or other sharp berries) before mixing.
