Cheesy Eggs (Variation of Scotch Eggs)

A simple variation of Scotch Eggs.


  • 175g/6oz cheddar cheese, grated
  • 40g/1 1/2 oz plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon slat
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 hard boiled eggs
  • dry breadcrumbs for coating
  • fat or oil for deep frying


Mix together the cheese, flour, salt, beaten egg and milk. Using wet hands, coat the hard boiled eggs completely with the cheese mixture. then roll them in the breadcrumbs.

Deep fry for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown.

Drain on paper towels and serve hot or cold.
