Homemade Milk Jelly

This milk jelly is a really unusual recipe that's bound to impress your guests. They're also bound to be impressed when they find out that it contains 50% of your daily requirement of vitamin D!


    • 250ml Avonmore Whole Super Milk
    • 1 tbsp caster sugar
    • Rind of 1 lemon, finely grated
    • 2 tsp leaf gelatine
    • 4 tbsp water


  • Dissolve the sugar by mixing it with a drop of water and heating it gently. Add the dissolved sugar to the Super Milk and lemon rind.

  • Leave to cool.

  • Soften the gelatine by standing it in the cold water in a small heat-proof container, then stand the container in a pan of boiled water and stir until dissolved.

  • Gently stir the gelatine into the cooled milk mixture, then strain through a sieve into a basin.

  • Stir occasionally until the mixture thickens.

  • Pour into a bowl or mould and leave to set in the fridge for about an hour.
