Mackerel fritters
Easy - for beginners


An authentic Jamaican recipe, often prepared as a filling part of a breakfast and also used as an appetiser. Also known as "Stamp N' Go" which derives from folklore of people stamping their feet at vendors to indicate they were in a hurry.


  • 1 can LASCO Mackerel in Brine (drained)
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 3 stalks Escallion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsps LASCO Crushed Pepper sauce
  • 3 tbsps LASCO vinegar
  • 1 cup Flour
  • ½ cup Water (for mixing)


  1. Empty LASCO Mackerel in a bowl. Flake with a fork.

  2. Add onions, scallion, crushed pepper and vinegar.

3.Fold in Flour and gradually add water

  1. Drop by tablespoons in heated oil

  2. Garnish with chopped escallion and serve
