Mr. Homolka’s Sesame Cake

Mr. Homolka...stop eating my sesame cake......STOP EATING MY SESAME CAKE.


  • 2 1/4 oz. sesame seed
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt (opt.)
  • 1/3 c. earth balance
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tsp ener-g egg replacer


Toast sesame seed. Cool. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and sesame seed saving 2 tablespoons. Beat together earth balance, sugar and egg replacer. Stir in flour mixture alternating with water and vanilla extract. Mix only until blended. Pour into 2 greased 8"x4"x2" loaf pans or 3 pot pie tins. Sprinkle tops with sesame seed. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Will keep 1 week. Can be frozen. Good served toasted.
