Description

This pound cake is capable of serving 12. It usually gets eaten in one serving. It doesn't last long. It doesn't mater how many are in the house. It truly has a short shelf life.

Ingredients

  • 1 box Duncan Hines all butter cake mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 8 ounce sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp rum extract
  • 1/4 tsp butter extract
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp coconut extract
  • 1/4 tsppineapple extract
  • 1/4 tsp orange extract
  • 1/4 tsp lemon extract
  • Glaze
  • 1/2 stick margarine, melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp coconut extract

Method

  1. Combine all cake ingredients, except extracts, and beat thoroughly, at least 2 minutes.
  2. Add extracts to batter and stir lightly.
  3. Pour into the prepared tube pan.
  4. Bake 50 minutes in a 350 degree preheated oven.
  5. Remove from oven and cool enough to remove from pan.
  6. Over low heat, mix glaze ingredients until smooth.
  7. Drizzle over hot cake.
